ARTIST STATEMENT

Exploring

After the pandemic I wanted to see if I could come up with something new visually that I found interesting.  The results are meditative pieces to sit and feel quiet around.  Some are like haiku poems, trying to relay memories of feeling in a 3-dimensional way.   A visit to the big stones in Scotland inspired bound monolithic forms.  The figure is always present, sometimes in subtle ways.  The surface textures let me play with color, visually flattening or accentuating the form.
